Finding Peace in the Process
I've been in a bit of a lull lately. With a cross-country move and 30 weeks of pregnancy under my belt (or in my belly), there's no denying a bit of a shift in my ability to focus and maintain my usual routine. I havn't created new artwork for the last few weeks and that bothers me a bit. However, I have come to realize that these times of inactivity and change, are a big part of the process. Though we generally focus on our accomplishments and ability to move forward when speaking of process, I think that the "in-between" times of silence and reflection can be just as effective as getting stuff done.
I have had time to step away and reflect and catch my breath...and that feels really good. I've also spent time brainstorming some new projects and letting them fester in my mind for a bit, rather than reacting right away. So though I may be feeling a bit slow and unproductive, I consider it all a part of the process. And, I might add, growing a human is by no means "doing nothing." There is a lot that goes into carrying this little girl around in my tummy! So I gladly welcome the change in routine, the slowing down and the naps!
I have surrendered to all the doing for a bit and welcomed the down time. That's where I have found my own peace in the process.
