Focusing on Now
I'm sitting inside, wearing a cozy sweater, listening to my afternoon acoustic mix and sipping coffee while looking out the window at the falling snow. It's beautiful. It's moments like this that we always crave...being cozy inside with all our comforts, no place to go, just looking outside with peace.
Ahhh...it feels good to sit with peace, doesn't it?
But the moment the wind shifts, the baby wakes up, the phone rings or we think about unresolved issues that continue to race in our head, it's over. Back to thinking about the things that have to get done, the schedules and the responsibilities. Although these things are important, we often forget to be present and simply deepen ourselves in the now.
It is in the present where can acknowledge...
Life is full and rich NOW.
There are blessings all around us NOW.
Gentleness and kindness are in our heart NOW.
Peace, love, creativity and ability is accessible NOW.
All this to say...
If you need help finding that place of peace, I encourage you to take more moments outside for yourself. See the trees, listen to the birds, notice the raindrops and the sound of your feet hitting the land. This is where ultimate peace exists. Nature and our earth lives on despite the seasons and despite the damage that humans impose upon it. Nature is strong-willed and mighty and it has the upper hand in life. Get out there and notice it, be part of it. It will bring perspective and peace back into your heart, guaranteed.
