Life is happening

2014-09-18 18.43.20A lot has changed in my life over the past 6 months.  I've planned a wedding, gotten married, honeymooned in Indonesia, quit my job, said goodbye to friends and family and moved across the country from bustling Chicago to the quiet hills of the Bay Area.  I'm not going to lie, it's been quite the whirlwind adventure. We've spent so much time preparing, planning, running around, stressing out and saying goodbyes that it's a really strange feeling to finally be at our destination.  Now what?

It's really quiet here.  And slow.  But good.  It's taken me a few weeks to embrace the stillness.  At first I didn't know how to handle it, but I am very slowly starting to find peace in the quiet here.  I am learning to slow down and take part in the open spaces all around me (and there are many).  Though there is less hustle and bustle, there is still a lot of life happening and I can't let that pass me by.

This transition has opened my eyes to creative opportunities and now I need to spread my arms open and embrace them.  As my feet get planted in this new place, I intend to simplify a few things and by doing so, uncover a brilliant life that is awaiting me here.  I believe that we must to simplify things in order to expose the saturation of brilliance around us.  Clutter and noise only pushes us away from the realness of life and its time to strip down to the true grit.

Here's to a journey of simplicity and brilliance.
